After a boat safari on the Tambopata River, we were greeted at our docking spot by a curious caiman who seemed far too comfortable being just meters away. With my super-telephoto lens still on, I could only capture a super close-up. The incredible texture of its skin and eye reminds us why caimans and crocodilians are the closest living relatives to dinosaurs.
