A lone guanaco stands before the iconic towers of Torres del Paine. The abundance of guanacos in the park is credited for sustaining its thriving puma population. As the puma’s primary prey, guanacos are often seen alert and scanning the terrain, acting as sentinels that alert others to approaching predators.
