A giant male bear in stealth mode, silently but swiftly closing in on our zodiac from the pack ice. Thankfully, we weren’t a viable meal—though not for lack of effort on his part. It was both terrifying and incredible to witness the instinctive hunting behavior of the Arctic’s apex predator up (almost too) close.
