I never realised how tough it would be to frame a whale tail at full stretch from edge to edge. Balancing a super-telephoto lens on a moving, tiny boat in heavy waves felt almost impossible. It took more missed shots than I’d like to admit, but after stubborn persistence, this was the moment I came away with.
